What does HPL do with donations?
Donations support Local History and Archives expenses, programming and collections. There are four funds: Most Needed Use, Kids’ Learning Fund, Fines Forgiveness and Local History and Archives Collections.

Are there other ways to donate?
Yes, you can:

  • Write a cheque to Hamilton Public Library and mail it to: Hamilton Public Library, 55 York Blvd., Hamilton, ON, L8N 4E4
  • Make a donation with cash or a credit card at any branch
  • Call 289-779-7588 (x3225 or 3224) and donate with a credit card

Is my donation tax-deductible?
A tax receipt will be issued for any donations of $25 or more. Donations made by cheque will be mailed to you.

Can I add Hamilton Public Library to my estate planning or Will to direct a legacy gift? 
Yes, donors can specify the Hamilton Public Library Legacy Fund held at Hamilton Community Foundation for future legacy gifts.
